54. You have coffee, we have story. Let us talk about the coffee story today—The forth coffee: Cortado.
I think maybe most of people will similar with me that we are not know too much about Cortado.
The coffee—Cortado, it is Espresso which add some warm milk in it. Firstly, you must pour the Espresso, and then pour the milk. You must follow this step! And the prefect Proportion for the coffee and milk is : between 2:1 and 1: 1.
The Cortado is very popular among Spain, Portugal and Latin America, people would like to have a cup of Cortado after lunch. The milk will be less than the Latten. It not only can cover the acid of the coffee , but also would not diluting the unique taste of coffee.
But we should distinguish between the Cortado and the brown sugar macchiato coffee from Italy. For the traditional, the macchiato coffee is the Espresso add less than 1 small amount of milk foam or hot milk.
In USA, they will use 1:1 to make the Cortado, but compare with the macchiato coffee, it will have more milk foam, seems like a cup of small Latten. But compare with macchiato, Cortado seems like a small amount of milk foam of Cappuccino.
